VICKY
November 7, 1954 changed my life.
Just a couple of weeks after Hurricane Hazel flooded the streets of my hometown Harriston (and my very pregnant mother had to crawl out of the stranded car window), my baby sister arrived. I can honestly say that Hazel was the worst storm in our 70 years together. Having a sister is like having a built-in best friend but with endless teasing and lots of inside family jokes that no one else understands. Growing up together, we shared a bedroom, countless memories, both joyful and challenging, and have created a bond that seems to have weathered the tests of time and distance. A sister makes life more chaotic but infinitely more fun.
Sisters
are like cookies and milk… whether things are sweet or a little crumby, they’re
better together.
“Sisters
don’t need words. They have perfected their own language of smiles, sniffs,
sighs, gasps, winks, and eye rolls.”
“A
sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.”
Never let an angry sister brush or cut (inside story) your hair.
“Sisters
may drive you insane, but they also keep you grounded.”
If you don't annoy your big sister for no reason, from time to time, she thinks you don't love her anymore.
“You
and I are sisters. Always remember that if you fall, I will pick you up… after
I finish laughing.”

Vicky--I'm smiling because we're sisters. I'm laughing because there's nothing you can do about it. c
